About the vehicle

The Chevrolet Copa Montana was a Brazilian racing series that served as a feeder category for Stock Car Brasil between 2010 and 2012. It emerged from the merger of Stock Car Light (Copa Vicar) and Pick-Up Racing, featuring pickup-style race cars based on the Chevrolet Montana. The vehicles were built on tubular chassis by JL Racing, powered by 5.7-liter V8 Chevrolet engines producing around 350 horsepower, and equipped with sequential gearboxes and slick Goodyear tires. In 2011, the series introduced FuelTech electronic injection and a "Push-to-Pass" system, allowing drivers a temporary boost in power for overtaking. Although short-lived, the Copa Montana helped develop young talent, with notable champions like Rafael Daniel, who claimed back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012.
Features

- 23 skins from the 2010 season (I used MadBronco’s skin pack for AMS’s Copa Montana as reference)

- Working Push to Pass (about 30 extra hp for a little amount of time)

Testing

Most of the testing was done at Barcelona. My fastest laps were high 1.54s - low 1.55s. AI was doing high 1.53s at 100% difficulty

Interlagos: fastest laps were low 1.44s

For comparison, in AMS2 I am capable of high 1.54s in Barcelona

FFB tuned for my 7-year-old Logitech G29, so I doubt it’s anywhere near perfect

Testing was done in CSP v0.2.6, with no apparent incompatibility

Future/Updates

Fixes to any bugs people may find. Otherwise, I consider the physics of the car and the car itself to be finished.

What next?

Honestly don’t know. I’m collaborating with Historic Sim Studios for a couple of classic cars. On my personal side, I don’t really know what to go for next, maybe another HIT hypercar?
