<i><span style="color: rgb(226, 80, 65)">A little bit of backstory to explain why this mod exists:</span></i><br>
<br>
Ever since I was a kid — and probably just like you — I’ve only ever dreamed of cars. Machines that shake the walls of our modern arenas. Beasts that push the boundaries of what the real world allows. Fascinated by these metal sculptures, I spent my childhood watching them, drawing them, recreating them, and inventing new ones. Years went by, and my passion turned into a profession. After thousands of pages filled with sketches, I became a car designer.<br>
<br>
In 2016, while I was still a design student doing an internship at a car manufacturer, I decided to enter the Michelin Challenge Design competition. The brief? Design an endurance prototype capable of winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2030. That’s when I created my vision of the ultimate LMP: the DTW (which stands for Designed To Win).<br>
<br>
<span style="color: rgb(226, 80, 65)">The DTW features three wild innovations:</span><br>
<ul>
<li data-xf-list-type="ul">Active aerodynamics</li>
<li data-xf-list-type="ul">An energy recovery system paired with four functional flaps (yes, they work in-game) that act as air brakes during deceleration</li>
<li data-xf-list-type="ul">These flaps capture air, compress it, and feed it into a Tesla turbine mounted behind the cockpit — working like a massive turbocharger</li>
<li data-xf-list-type="ul">Finally, the DTW is also equipped with 3D-printed tread band wheels that adapt in real time to changing surfaces or race conditions — no pit stops required.</li>

These deliberately unconventional ideas are paired with an aerodynamic design, a flat underbody, and a massive rear wing inspired by the cantilevered spoilers found on old Group C prototypes. In early 2017, out of 1,600 submissions from 80 countries, the DTW was selected as one of the 20 finalists and received an Honorable Mention. Today, even if this race car will probably never tear up the tarmac at Le Mans, it can now do so virtually. I truly hope it shares with you a piece of the joy and passion I felt when I designed it — already 8 years ago!<br>

This mod is, of course, far from perfect — but its main goal is to share the passion and fun described above. Feel free to make it your own, bring it to life however you like, and don’t hesitate to share your suggestions for improvements. And most importantly:<br>

<i><span style="color: rgb(226, 80, 65)">Un petit bout d’histoire pour t’expliquer pourquoi ce mod existe :</span></i><br>
<br>
Depuis tout petit et probablement comme toi je ne rêve que de voitures, d’engins qui font vibrer les murs de nos arènes modernes, de machines qui repoussent les limites que nous impose le monde réel.<br>
<br>
Passionné par ces sculptures de métal, j’ai passé mon enfance à les regarder, les dessiner, les reproduire et en inventer. Les années ont passées et ma passion s’est transformée en métier, après des milliers de feuilles griffonnées, je suis devenu designer automobile.<br>
<br>
En 2016, alors que je suis encore en études de design en stage chez un constructeur automobile, je décide de participer au concours Michelin Challenge Design. Ce concours propose aux participants de dessiner un prototype d’endurance qui serait capable de gagner les 24 Heures du Mans en 2030. C’est alors que je décide de proposer ma vision de la lmp ultime, la DTW (pour Designed To Win).<br>

<span style="color: rgb(226, 80, 65)">La DTW est équipée de 3 innovations un peu folles</span> :<br>
elle dispose d’une aéro active et d’un système de récupération d’énergie couplé à 4 flaps (fonctionnel en jeu) qui servent d’aérofreins lors des phases de freinage. Ces flaps capturent l’air pour le comprimer et l’envoyer à une turbine tesla montée derrière le cockpit et dont le fonctionnement se rapproche d’un gigantesque turbo. Enfin la DTW dispose également de roues à bandes de roulements imprimées en 3D pour s’adapter aux changements de surfaces ou de conditions en course en temps réel sans forcément passer par la voix des stands (L’ensemble de ces innovations et les spécifications sont décrites plus précisément dans le mod une fois installé). Toutes ces innovations volontairement décalées accompagnent un design aérodynamique ainsi qu’un fond plat et un spoiler arrière immense qui tire son inspiration des ailerons arrière déportés fixés sur les anciens proto du Groupe C. Début 2017, parmi 1600 participations venant de 80 pays différents, la DTW est sélectionnée pour faire partie des 20 finalistes et reçoit une mention honorable. Aujourd’hui, même si cette voiture de course ne verra probablement jamais le jour ni ne brulera de gomme sur l’asphalte de la Sarthe, elle peut le faire virtuellement et j’espère qu’elle saura partager avec vous tout le plaisir et toute la passion que j’ai mis à la dessiner il y a 8 ans déjà !<br>

Ce mod est bien sûr très perfectible et le but avec celui-ci est surtout de vous partager la passion et le plaisir décrites ci-dessus. Sentez-vous libre de la faire vivre comme vous le souhaitez et n’hésitez pas à me faire part des améliorations que vous aimeriez voir.<br>
