Description

Citroën caused a sensation when it presented a prototype of a 2CV with four-wheel drive to the press in March 1957.
With its two 425 cm3 engines, this 2CV had all the power needed to drive off-road.
Two 425 cc engines, two starter controls, two tanks placed under the seats whose holes open through the doors, when from the front, the 2CV 4×4 is distinguished by the spare wheel, present on the hood and by its tubular bumper borrowed from the 2CV PO.
With its protective sheet metal forming a ski.
The lever, positioned between the two front seats, directly operates the two gearboxes.
By controlling the simultaneous guidance of the front and rear gearboxes, it allows, thanks to a second lever, to disengage the rear engine in order to operate only on the front engine.
It also weighs 260kg more than a normal 2CV.
